These are pieces of artifacts from the site of the Bluemont Colored school. These items were from the site of the Bluemont Colored school. There is not much left at the location in the woods on the rise above the village of Bluemont, but members of the Edwin Washington Project were able to find the following: 1. A granite stone that had been part of the front step. 2. A brick that had been part of the foundation 3. A piece of the tin roof 4. A segment of window pane 5. A pice of the jug that would have held drinking water for the students The building itself was moved into the village to become the Bluemont post office. It is currently privately owned, it sits directly across the street from the Lake Store that houses this exhibit! |
